Like a scene from the Land Rush of 1889, home buyers could literally “stake their claim” by placing a family placard on the lot of their choice. Essex Homes’ Stake Your Claim event presented two days of touring the “territory” of Woodcreek Crossing; resulting in one home sale, one lot reservation and 28 interested home buyers despite torrential rain.

Held outside under a tent on April 25 and 26, the event was promoted through post cards, email, blogging and social media.
