From Bailee Garwood:
Interning at the Atlanta office of mRELEVANCE this summer has been such a great experience. Being my first internship, I had absolutely no clue what to expect. Is my outfit okay? Will they like me? Will I be able to do what they ask of me? Will I do it well? I was a nervous wreck to say the least!
Though I was very intimidated coming into my first day, I felt overjoyed and relieved while leaving it. Not only had I completed my first day of a real-life internship, I had actually ENJOYED it. Who knew work could be so fun? The employees of Marketing RELEVANCE are lively and engaged with fresh perspectives and lots of energy. They are all very good at what they do, and I felt like I could ask questions and learn from them without fear of scrutiny.
As my time here is drawing to an end, I am very pleased with all that I have learned. I came into this position with no experience in marketing and communications, and I am leaving with much knowledge and confidence. I have learned a lot about writing and managing blog posts for clients, how to effectively plan and upload social media updates, how to write news releases and how to streamline information into a half-page flyer.
Because of my time at Marketing RELEVANCE, I was inspired to apply for another internship this fall, and have received a call back for an interview. I am excited to take the skills I have learned to school next year, so that I can tackle my marketing classes with background knowledge and experience.
Moreover, I recommend interning at Marketing RELEVANCE to any and all college students looking to gain experience and insight into the marketing, communications and public relations world. You will gain tons of valuable knowledge and have a great time while doing it. I believe the fact that I can genuinely say I will miss my time here speaks volumes and that any previous intern would say the same.
