Greg’s Bio:

Episode 36 podcast leads off with Greg telling Mitch about himself and getting into the lending business. Everything started when he graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. His career spans over 20 years in the mortgage industry and helping home buyers and owners navigate through the home buying process. Furthermore, helping them understand the financial process for home buying.

Greg is also responsible for developing business relationships with real estate agents, financial planners and accountants. For instance, these relationships are formed when he is assisting and meeting their financial and home ownership goals. Currently, Greg serves on the board of the Lake County Property Investors Association and is an assistant director for a national referral organization.

In 2018, Greg joined Stearns Lending. One of the main reasons he was drawn to them is their commitment to staying current on technology that can best serve customers. Greg explains to Mitch how they have a digital platform that makes taking care of customers a seamless process. Therefore, getting their questions answered in a timely manner can help remove some of the stress related to the process. 


Greg’s target marketing is mostly first time buyers. Over the years those buyers typically move again or on which provides him another opportunity to work with those clients. He gets introduced to the majority of his clients through his team of business partners. For example; real estate agents, financial planners, estate planning attorneys and accountants.

Running online ads has provided him with several conversations a day about renovating or purchasing a home. Additionally, there are email campaigns and text messages that help with marketing.
