Change is in the air and it’s coming quickly for the Facebook community. With the introduction of the live news feed, Facebook has begun their tiered launch of a newly designed platform. All of these changes make it more important then ever to keep up to date, which is why Facebook recently launched its roadmap.
This map, designed mainly for developers, provides a detailed outline for the future of Facebook. While everything may not make sense to the average Facebook user, the map does provide a clear and comprehensive plan of what the future of Facebook looks like.
So what changes should you expect to see as 2009 winds down? Your invitations to events, applications, groups, etc. will be moving from your homepage to your Inbox. In addition, third party applications may be asking you for your email address.Facebook will also be adding a ‘Bookmark’ button so that users can easily navigate to their favorite applications. Your profile might also look a little different as the Boxes tab will no longer be a feature. Applications will only be accessible via the Applications Tab.
These are just some of the changes coming to Facebook. For more information about what to expect over the next couple of months make sure to visit the roadmap and take a look for yourself.
